Download resources now available
Anne Carlsen Center for Children has added a new section to it’s
website providing download information and resources for home and/or
classroom activities.
“We often showcase computer keyboard
overlays and other assistive technology adaptations in workshops
and trainings we do,” says ACCC’s assistive technology
specialist Mark Coppin. “We’re now making those available
to anyone who wants to use them.
“We do the work for kids
we are educating on campus. If we’re going to spend the time
doing it, why not make it available for everybody?”
One feature
he hopes to build into the site in the near future is a daily adapted
newspaper. Currently, Coppin is modifying the Jamestown Sun. He
is in contact with USA Today to seek permission to adapt it.
With
its national scope, it would have a broader appeal.
The download
site is also a way for people to get information quickly if they
are unable to attend conference workshops or sessions led by ACCC
staff.
In addition to program downloads, handouts and presentation
information will be available on the site.
For a majority of assistive
technology downloads users will need Intellitools Classroom Suite
and/or Overlay Maker installed on their computers. Presentation
handouts and materials will be available in PDF format.
The section
is linked on the home page or available directly by clicking here www.annecenter.org
