Sustaining the Legacy
Cooper named to Foundation post
Kevin Cooper, Jamestown, N.D., has been named executive director
of the Anne Carlsen Center for Children Foundation.
The position has been open since January, when Jon Lillejord left
ACCC to become the manager of a local clinic.
In announcing Cooper's appointment, ACCC's Chief Executive Officer
Dan Howell said, "Kevin brings strong leadership to the Center's
fund raising arm. He is energetic and has a clear understanding
of our philanthropic needs."
Cooper was teaching at Valley City State University and prior
to that was the chief executive officer of Jamestown/Stutsman Development
Corporation.
"It is humbling to be selected for this position," said
Cooper. "The Center is a highly respected place where miracles
happen everyday. Since moving to Jamestown seven years ago, I have
been impacted personally by the students and the compassionate
staff. They have impressed upon me the importance of the work of
the Center."
He added, "The Center has a strong history of being a good
steward of the support received from its donors. I'm honored to
be given this opportunity."
Cooper, a native of Portland, N.D., earned his bachelor's degree
from Mayville State University and his masters degree in business
administration from the University of North Dakota.
Prior to relocating to Jamestown, he was the executive director
of Hazen Community Development.
"I believe my background in economic development will complement
the responsibilities of fundraising," said Cooper.
Cooper's primary responsibilities will be to travel and meet with
ACCC's donors concerning the evolving needs of the Center and opportunities
for contributions.
