Foundation grant supports ACCC effort
Anne Carlsen Center for Children was awarded a grant last month
of $2,698 from Dakota Medical Foundation to help fund the purchase
of 10 portable suction machines.
The machines are critical to the care of children with medically
fragile conditions residing at the Center.
ACCC, located in Jamestown, is the only organization in North
Dakota providing residential, therapy and education services in a combined
program to children and young adults with disabilities.
"Over a third of our residents rely on specialized medical
care to help them lead active and fulfilling lives. Our ability
to purchase this equipment, with DMF's help, adds to their ability
to be more
independent," said ACCC Foundation Executive Director Kevin
Cooper. "We appreciate Dakota Medical Foundation's commitment
to partner with us on this project."
Dakota Medical Foundation, based in Fargo, N.D., focuses its efforts
on improving access to medical and dental care. Since its inception
in 1995, the Foundation has invested nearly $27 million in more
than 275 non-profit organizations to help them measurably improve
health and access to healthcare.
