ACCC Invites Experts on Autism Treatment to Jamestown
Carolyn Murray-Slutsky, an occupational therapist, and Betty Paris, a physical therapist, are recognized around the world as experts in intervention strategies for those with developmental delays. They will present “Autism and Pervasive Developmental Delay: Intervention Strategies” at Jamestown College.
Combined, the presenters have nearly 60 years of experience working with children and adults with sensory, learning and neurological difficulties. Both are certified in sensory integration and neuro-developmental treatment techniques.
In 1999 Murray-Slutsky and Paris, together with Herman Slutsky, founded a company dedicated to helping children and their families thrive. Through STAR Services (State of The Art Resource Services Inc.), based in Hollywood, Florida, they provide high-quality education and consultative services to parents, teachers, therapists and other professionals. You can find out more at http://www.starservices.tv.
The conference is June 5 & 6 at Jamestown College in Westminster Hall - Level 2. Registration is at 8 a.m., with workshop sessions each day from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Those encourage to attend include teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, parents, social workers, nurses and other professionals. The conference has been approved for CEU’s and university workshop credit.
Paris and Murray-Slutsky skillfully guide participants to a deeper understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and pervasive developmental delays. With videos and case presentations, they help conference attendees develop the skills of problem identification and program planning. They will clearly identify specific identification strategies for use at school, home, and in the community.

Anne Carlsen Center for Children provides residential, therapeutic and education services to children and young adults with developmental disabilities and conditions.
Approximately half of the students on our ACCC Campus have a diagnosis of autism. We have a passion for helping these individuals overcome relationship challenges and develop meaningful skills for life. ACCC is planning future conferences and trainings focused on Autism Spectrum Disorders.
