ACCC Sparkle New Year’s Eve Gala features student entertainment

Tickets are now available for Anne Carlsen Center for Children's Sparkle New Year’s Eve Gala on Saturday, Dec. 31 at the Quality Inn ballroom in Jamestown.

“With recent remodeling at the Quality Inn, it will set the tone for a delightful evening of dinner and dancing to celebrate the New Year,” said Shelley Nannenga, Anne Carlsen Center for Children annual giving officer and the event’s chairperson.

The evening includes a social, dinner prepared by local chef Emily Allen and dance featuring The Roosters and Dick King’s Classic Swing Band. A midnight lunch with champagne will be served beginning at 11 p.m.

The dinner is limited to 200 guests, so Nannenga suggests purchasing tickets early. Tickets for the event are $75 and are available by calling Anne Carlsen Center for Children at 252-3850 or 1-800-568-5175.

Dinner guests this year will be treated to special entertainment, when a group of students from ACCC perform musical selections using a computer program and customized switches.

“This evening is really about supporting the children at the Center,” said Nannenga. “We wanted to do more to involve them so guests have the chance to see what their support can do for the kids. They won’t be disappointed in the children’s performance.”

What has become a unique feature of the event is the the give-away of a loose, 71 point diamond valued at more than $2,500. At the Gala, dinner guests will again have an opportunity to purchase a chance to win the diamond, provided by Richard Doerr of Richard’s Jewelry and Clock Repair.

“We really want to create an atmosphere of elegance during the holiday season” Nannenga said. “This evening is full of special touches that will make it a memorable New Year’s Eve for all who attend.”
