“Paying it Forward” Celebration Showcases Solarium, Gardening Program

Lemonade, cookies, butterflies, F-M RedHawks mascots and players, salsa tasting, and gardening demonstrations by ACC students … sounds like fun, right?

The Anne Carlsen Center (ACC) invites you to a celebration of its solarium and gardening program on Tuesday, August 25. Otter Tail Power Company, an ACC Community Partner and generous supporter of the solarium project, is sponsoring the “Paying it Forward” event on the Anne Carlsen Center’s Jamestown Campus in the solarium/garden area.

Otter Tail is celebrating its 100th Anniversary Celebration, the theme of which is "On for Generations," which consists of three parts: remembering roots, giving thanks, and paying it forward. As part of paying it forward, Otter Tail is highlighting the ACC solarium and gardening program. This August 25 event is a chance for the Center and Otter Tail to celebrate the solarium, completed in March 2008, and the many ways that the gardening program has enriched the lives ACC students, staff and members of the Jamestown community.

From 11 a.m. until noon, the public is invited to participate in gardening demonstrations by ACC students, a butterfly release, a tree planting, refreshments, and tours of ACC. There will be a chance to meet Otter Tail’s Ollie the Otter and mingle with RedHawks mascots and players.
