Brief Description:
The Anne Carlsen Center for Children began its Job Placement Program in 1996. The primary goal of the program is for an individual with disabilities to gain the skills and experience needed to obtain a paid position in the work force. Through the coordination of the client's needs and the community business needs, the Job Developer assists the client to make a good employment match. Program components include:
- Resume writing
- Job application training
- Job searching
- Interviewing skills
- Job Socialization skill building
Objective:
Provide a detailed description of effective job development, job carving, and client placement.
Audience:
Teachers, Vocational staff, School Counselors, Job Service staff, Vocational and Rehabilitation Consultants, Adults agency staff
Length:
1 or 2 hour presentation
4 or 6 hour workshop
Presenters:
Laurie Skadsem, Community Integration Program Manager since 1988, developed and implemented the Community Integration and Vocational Development Program at ACCC. She is a Jamestown winner of Health Care Professional of the Year (1998 & 1999), Jamestown Sertoma Club winner of Service to Mankind Award (1997-98), Jamestown ARC Community Involvement Award (1996), Nominated for Mt. Plains Exceptional Program of the Year Award (1995).
Cost:
1 hour: $270
2 hour: $360
4 hour: $450
6 hour: $800
Per diem travel fee of $1 per mile to and from Jamestown.
